Gulf Coast Beaches

Gulf State Park

Alabama has beautiful sugar-white beaches. The soft sand is heaven to walk across. Gulf State Part is a great place to visit. Visitors can enjoy water sports such as surf fishing and jet skiing. Deep sea fishing is another favorite here. Sports enthusiasts can watch or participate in championship golf. The old fashioned Southern charm is prevalent throughout the area. The town folk are friendly and hospitable. There are hotels or you can camp in the park. Spots for both tents and RV’s are available. While you are in the area you will want to check out Ft. Morgan, site of the Civil War Battle of Mobile Bay and Bon Secour National Park.

Biloxi Beach and Deer Island

Biloxi Mississippi has some magnificent beaches. Mild weather year round means the beaches can be enjoyed no matter what the season. Golfing is a favorite pastime in the Biloxi beach area. Festivals and plenty of fun make it a perfect place for a family vacation. The Blessing of the Shrimp Fleet in May is a fantastic site. Shrimping is still an important part of the community. July brings fireworks on Deer Island. There are also Crab festivals, Oyster Festivals and Shrimp festivals that offer a taste of the delicious local fare.

Fort DeSoto Beach, Florida

Seven miles of sandy beaches with pristine water makes this one of the favorite beaches in the United States. Made up of five islands, there is 900 acres of wild area for hiking, biking and water sports. Visitors can camp at one of the available campsites. There are picnic areas and two fishing piers. You can rent canoes, kayaks and bikes. Take the whole family on a hike or bike ride on one of the trails made especially for hiking and biking. Be sure and visit the fort on Mullet Key. It was built during the Spanish- American War.

Pensacola Beach

Pensacola Beach is a picture of pristine whiteness. Sugary sand fills the beaches. The Gulf Coast waters provide lots of swimming and surfing fun. Along the Pensacola Beach area you can find restaurants, stores and a variety of lodging options. There are festivals that the whole family will enjoy. Mardi Gras is a springtime favorite as well as the annual Blue Angels show in July. Parades and celebrations make this a hopping beach area.
